Welcome

The University of Pittsburgh has many programs involving minors which occurs on campus for a variety of purposes. These purposes include participation in camps, clinics, programs, research and coursework ("Programs"). The University is committed to protecting the safety of the entire campus community and has partnered with ProVerify to ensure that all programs occurring on campus with minors are registered. The registration portal has been designed to streamline the registration, clearance and program involving minors on campus process. In order to follow both state law and University of Pittsburgh guidelines responsibility center designee’s are responsible for completing the following steps using this portal: • Identify a University Program Facilitator whom will be responsible for the registration of this program with the form outlined below. • The Program Facilitator will be responsible for uploading a program roster that collects the employee and or volunteer's personal information that will be associated with the program. • Upload (if necessary) any required owner or operator licensee Agreement. These include agreements. Programs held on University of Pittsburgh campuses must comply with the guidance found on the Office of Human Resources’ (OHR) website. This guidance applies to programs that are owned or operated by the University itself, and all such programs occurring on our campuses that are owned or operated by someone other than the University. Additionally, please note the following definitions as guided by state law: • In all cases, no Program workers/volunteers may be permitted to have direct contact/direct volunteer contact, as applicable, with any minor in connection with an Program until the appropriate responsibility center head or authorized designee (hereinafter referred to as the “Program Facilitator”) has reviewed the required clearances and approved each such individual. • “Direct Contact” is defined as the “care, guidance, supervision or control of children, or routine interaction with children.” • “Routine Interaction” is defined as “regular and repeated contact that is integral to a person’s employment or volunteer responsibilities.” • “Direct Volunteer Contact” is defined as the “care, supervision, guidance, or control of children and routine interaction with children.”
